FIRST TIMERS

You may be nervous or apprehensive about your first class. Don’t be!

Each class caters for a wide range of abilities from those starting their fitness journey to exercise veterans.

Every class is unique and different to the last. You’ll feel so invigorated from the session that you’ll forget you’re working hard.

 You will need to wear trainers and suitable fitness clothing. For example, you can wear leggings or shorts and a t-shirt.

  • You’ll want to wear a hat, gloves and a warmer top during the winter months. However, once you get started you’ll warm up quickly.

  • You should aim to arrive 15 minutes before the class starts at the first session. You’ll be greeted by one of our friendly instructors who will explain how our exercise for beginners class works.

  • In addition, you will also have the opportunity to discuss your fitness history with your instructor, so they can tailor the class to your needs.

  • Bring a water bottle with you so you can have a drink during the class. Your valuables can be stored in our vehicle or by your member station.

BEFORE THE CLASS

 You’ll be introduced to our friendly members at the start of the class who have all been in the same position when they did their first class.

  • Moving on, you will start with a progressive warm-up. This will prepare you both physically and mentally for the session ahead.

  • In addition, you will break down barriers with the other members and this will settle you in for the class.

  • Following the warm-up, you’ll start the main session where you’ll participate in a variety of exercise for beginners activities.

  • You’ll experience a mix of bodyweight exercises, equipment based circuit training and team challenges.

  • We coach and encourage you to your best, however you work to your pace and can take water breaks throughout.

DURING THE CLASS

 Once you complete your main session, you’ll end with a thorough cool-down.

  • Primarily, you’ll gradually lower your heart rate and stretch the major muscles groups.

  • After the class, your instructor will be keen to find out how you found the class.

  • Furthermore, you can find out more about what membership options are available to you after your trial sessions.

  • As a result, you’ll leave the session feeling motivated and in a positive mindset, ready for your next session.
