Battle Bootcamp Partners With Muscle Food

My Muscle Food Experience  - By Sarah Day

When I heard BB was approached by Muscle Food to partner up and offer an awesome product to the community, as a keen lover of food I was excited to offer my tasting skill set up, free of charge! I am the kind of person that prepares for a night out to a restaurant by scrutinising the online menus, so I know before I turn up, what meal I will order.  Not only that but I have 3 back-up dishes in case emergency ordering measures are required.  So my standards are high!

Ordering Process:
Ordering the products couldn't be easier, the only dilemma and time-consuming piece, actually selecting the foods for my 5-day plan.  Once I had decided I found it really easy to put together the meals for each day.

Delivery:
Communications pre-delivery could not be faulted and delivery was made exactly when it was supposed to. The first thing that struck me was just how well everything was packaged. The outer box was very sturdy with an inner cool bag packed with ample Hydrated gel ice sheets, which kept the food inside perfectly cool. Got to give muscle food top props, because it was refreshing to see you could recycle all the packaging too.

My menu and quick comments:
Day 1: Monday 14th September
Breakfast: Protein pancakes - really tasty and very filling.
Lunch - BBQ Pulled Pork with veg - Microwave from frozen, really easy - again really tasty and filling.
Afternoon Snack: Banoffee Millionaire Shortbread - Very nice.
Dinner: Ultimate Burger Bowl: All ingredients came as fresh with a recipe card. The recipe is really simple to follow and plenty of ingredients.
Snack: Soreen malt loaf

Day 2: Tuesday 15th September
Breakfast: Blueberry Protein pancakes - really tasty and very filling.
Lunch: Tikka Style Wrap - wasn’t that hungry so this did the trick - really tasty too!
Afternoon Snack: Brownie with white choc chunks - Small but a little stodgy however very tasty.
Dinner: Sticky Chilli Sausages with roasted veg: I wasn’t looking forward to this one as much as didn’t think I was a fan of courgettes or roasted carrots. But surprisingly tasted really nice.
Snack: Soreen malt loaf

Day 3: Wednesday 16th September
Breakfast: oomf Protein Oats, Nice, probably add a little extra water next time as it was a little stodgy but blame myself not the product.
Lunch: BBQ Chicken with rice, cauliflower, carrots, broccoli and BBQ sauce — Quite bland, not much of a BBQ taste.
Afternoon Snack: Strawberry and white chocolate protein cookie - very nice
Dinner: Dragon Fire Chicken Skewers - If you like spicy food these are great! Plenty of ingredients, I found I had more than I needed and more than I could have eaten! Will definitely have these again.
Snack: Soreen malt loaf

Day 4: Thursday 17th September
Breakfast: Made my own smoothie
Lunch: Ragu Beef: Really tasty and filling too.
Afternoon Snack: Soreen Malt loaf
Dinner: Sticky Chilli Sausages: Had this one earlier in the week and enjoyed it, so was looking forward to this and didn’t disappoint.
Snack: Brownie with white chocolate chunks

Day 5: Friday 18th September
Breakfast: FUEL chocolate high protein porridge: really nice, preferred it to the Oomf protein oats earlier in the week.
Lunch: Badman Curry - Really enjoyed this and plenty filling.
Afternoon Snack: Soreen Malt Loaf
Dinner: Peri Peri Chicken with roasted veg - Another really tasty meal, really easy prep.

Overall experience :

Really impressed - I was apprehensive at the time of ordering as my normal daily calorific count would be around 1600 -1700 calories but opted for the 1200-1500 menu. I didn't once feel hungry and enjoyed nearly every meal and snack.  Love the Simple recipe cards with all the nutritional information on, really informative and nice addition. Would possibly spend a little more time picking lunch selections as that was the only meal that felt a little repetitive regardless of meal. Snacks were great, good selection.

I suppose the biggest question I would consider would be around cost. When I scrutinise the experience, ease and simplicity, the product saved me time, took away nearly all the required normal preparation and produced me with a very nutritionally balanced weekly menu, with a lower calorie return to boot. 9/10, thanks to Muscle Food and BB for allowing me to be the guinea pig. 😉
